Description
A homemade, ultra-creamy mocha frappuccino that tastes like a vacation but costs under $2 per serving. This lightning-fast recipe uses cold brew, whole milk, and cocoa powder for a rich, velvety texture without the coffee shop hassle.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cold brew or strong black coffee (chilled)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 cup packed ice
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Chocolate shavings (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Ensure coffee is completely cold; if using hot coffee, chill it in the fridge or freezer for 20 minutes.
- Add cold coffee, milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, and chocolate syrup to a blender.
- Add the packed ice to the blender last.
- Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy with no large ice chunks.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup on the inside of a tall glass and swirl to coat.
- Pour the blended mixture into the prepared glass.
- Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
- Serve immediately with a straw.
Notes
Cold coffee is non-negotiable to prevent the drink from becoming watery. Use a full cup of packed ice for the correct slushy texture. Adjust sweetness based on taste. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk or coconut milk and dairy-free chocolate syrup. Do not freeze the blended drink as it will turn into a solid block of ice.
