Description
A quick and easy 30-minute dinner featuring crispy pork cubes tossed in a sweet, savory, and sticky honey garlic glaze, finished with toasted sesame seeds.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds pork loin or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or canola/avocado oil)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the pork cubes dry with paper towels and toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and 2 tablespoons of water. Set aside.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork cubes in a single layer (cook in batches if necessary) and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove pork from the pan and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Pour the sauce mixture into the same skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Return the pork to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the glaze. Cook for 1 minute to meld flavors.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sesame oil.
- Serve immediately, sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Notes
Pat the pork dry before coating to ensure crispiness. Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the meat. Use fresh ginger and garlic for best flavor. Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan for 2 minutes for enhanced nuttiness. Pork tenderloin cooks quickly; ensure internal temperature reaches 145°F.
