Description
A creamy, tropical, and genuinely delicious pineapple spinach smoothie that is low in sugar and packed with nutrients. This recipe uses avocado for creaminess and frozen pineapple for texture, providing a healthy, energizing breakfast option.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 2 cups fresh baby spinach
- 1 medium ripe banana
- 1/2 medium ripe avocado
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup ice (optional)
Instructions
- Prep ingredients: Ensure pineapple is frozen. Peel and chop banana, scoop avocado flesh, and wash spinach.
- Add liquids first: Pour almond milk and lemon juice into the blender to help blades spin freely.
- Add soft ingredients: Add spinach, banana, and avocado. Spinach should go in early to ensure it blends completely.
- Add frozen fruit: Toss in frozen pineapple chunks and chia seeds.
- Blend: Start on low speed, gradually increase to high. Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth with no green flecks.
- Taste and adjust: If too tart, add more banana. If too thick, add more almond milk. If too thin, add ice or more frozen pineapple.
- Serve immediately: Pour into a tall glass and drink fresh to prevent separation.
Notes
Use ripe bananas with brown spots for natural sweetness. If using fresh pineapple, freeze chunks for at least 4 hours. Spinach should be blended thoroughly to avoid fibrous chunks. Drink immediately for best texture and color.
