Description
A quick, 5-minute keto-friendly iced vanilla latte that provides steady energy without sugar crashes. This homemade version is creamy, customizable, and costs significantly less than coffee shop drinks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (480ml) brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2–3 teaspoons keto-friendly sweetener (e.g., erythritol or monk fruit)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon sugar-free vanilla syrup (optional)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
- Cinnamon or vanilla bean powder (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Brew strong coffee and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until cold.
- Fill a 16-ounce glass with ice cubes.
- In a shaker bottle or jar with a lid, combine the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and keto sweetener. If using sugar-free syrup, add it here.
- Add a splash of the cold coffee to the cream mixture and whisk to temper, then seal the jar.
- Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the mixture is frothy and well-combined.
- Pour the cold coffee over the ice in the glass, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Slowly pour the sweetened cream mixture over the coffee to create layers.
- Garnish with whipped cream, cinnamon, or vanilla bean powder if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.
Notes
Ensure coffee is completely cooled before adding ice to prevent dilution. For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream. If using protein powder, blend instead of shake to avoid clumping. The drink is best made fresh; do not freeze.
