Description
A quick, sweet, and savory weeknight dinner featuring seared pork chops coated in a sticky honey garlic butter sauce. Ready in just 20 minutes with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 to 6 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
- Kosher salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or avocado oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 to 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously on both sides with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chops to a plate and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the same pan. Once melted, add minced garlic and garlic powder. Stir constantly for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
- Pour the honey mixture into the pan with the garlic and butter. Stir to combine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return pork chops to the pan, spooning sauce over the top. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and sauce is glossy.
- Serve immediately, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Do not skip searing the chops for a better crust. Watch garlic closely as it burns easily. Use a meat thermometer to ensure pork reaches 145°F without drying out. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water or broth to loosen it.
