  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

Crispy, golden, and incredibly addictive party appetizers made with herb cream cheese, cheddar, and ham. These pinwheel bites are ready in about 30 minutes and are perfect for entertaining or a quick snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas (68 inch)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup deli ham, diced
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup thick sour cream (for dipping)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for dipping)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped (for dipping)
  • Hot sauce to taste (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prep ingredients: Ensure cream cheese is softened. Mince garlic, chop herbs, dice ham, and shred cheese.
  2. Mix the herb cream cheese: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped chives, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spread the tortillas: Lay tortillas flat and spread a thin, even layer of the herb cream cheese mixture over each, leaving a half-inch border on the edges.
  4. Add the filling: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the cream cheese, then distribute diced ham over the cheese in a thin, even layer.
  5. Roll them up: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll each tortilla into a log. Place seam side down.
  6. Chill the rolls: Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 15-30 minutes to firm up the cream cheese.
  7. Slice the pinwheels: Remove plastic wrap and slice each roll into 1-inch thick rounds using a sharp serrated knife.
  8. Cook the bites: Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Place pinwheels in a single layer in the basket. Brush with melted butter. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  9. Serve: Serve warm with a dipping sauce made from sour cream, Dijon mustard, chives, and hot sauce.

Notes

Chilling the rolls before slicing is crucial to prevent them from unraveling or looking messy. Use a serrated knife for clean cuts. If using an oven, bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free flour tortillas. These can be frozen unbaked for later use.
