Halloween Witch Finger Breadsticks: Small Batch & No Leftovers

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

A small-batch, 20-minute Halloween treat made with crescent dough, cream cheese, and chocolate. Perfect for couples or small households, these savory witch finger breadsticks yield exactly six servings with zero waste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • 2 ounces full-fat block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese and milk until smooth. Transfer to a ziplock bag with the corner snipped off to use as a piping bag.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and cut each triangle into three long strips to make six total strips.
  4. Roll each strip from the wide end to the point loosely to form a ‘chubby finger’ shape. Place on the baking sheet.
  5. Use toothpicks to gently press wrinkles into the dough, focusing on knuckles and tips.
  6. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and everything bagel seasoning.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, melt white and mini chocolate chips separately in the microwave in 15-second intervals.
  9. Let baked fingers cool for 2 minutes, then pipe a small dollop of cream cheese out of the wide end to resemble a bone.
  10. Dot two eyes with melted white chocolate near the tip and add mini chocolate chip pupils.

Notes

Use block cream cheese, not spreadable, to ensure the ‘bone’ holds its shape. Do not roll the dough too tightly or they will puff up into balls. If gluten-free is needed, use gluten-free crescent dough but handle gently. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
