Fudgy Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Description

These fudgy peanut butter swirl brownies are dense, moist, and incredibly easy to make in one bowl. Featuring a rich chocolate base with ribbons of salty-sweet peanut butter, they are the perfect indulgent dessert that comes together in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened natural cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (125g) creamy peanut butter, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon heavy cream or milk
  • Optional: Mini chocolate chips for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave or saucepan. Let it cool slightly so it is warm but not hot.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar vigorously for about a minute until glossy and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and whisk until fully combined and smooth.
  5. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt to the wet ingredients. Use a spatula to fold gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Tap the pan gently to release air bubbles.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and heavy cream (or milk) until smooth and creamy.
  8. Dollop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the chocolate batter. Use a toothpick or fork to gently swirl the peanut butter into the batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be set and pulling away from the pan, but the center should still look slightly soft and jiggly. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs.
  10. Cool the brownies completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before lifting them out and cutting into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake the brownies to maintain a fudgy texture. Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best results. For clean cuts, cool completely and use a sharp knife wiped clean between slices or a pizza cutter. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
