Fall Caramel Apple Cider Sangria

  • Author: Olivia
  • Total Time: 10 minutes plus chilling time
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

A budget-friendly, make-ahead autumn sangria that combines fresh apple cider, apple vodka, amaretto, and caramel topping for a sweet, fizzy, and festive party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 gallon (3.8 liters) fresh refrigerated apple cider
  • 16 ounces (475ml) apple juice
  • 1.5 bottles (750ml each) apple vodka
  • 1 bottle (750ml) amaretto
  • 1 bottle (12 oz) caramel ice cream topping
  • 2 liters (68 oz) ginger ale
  • 34 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced thin
  • 46 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 orange, sliced (optional)
  • Apple cider ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash apples thoroughly and slice them into thin rounds or wedges, removing cores if desired. Set aside.
  2. In a large 2-gallon pitcher, combine the apple cider and apple juice. Stir to mix.
  3. Pour in the apple vodka and amaretto. Stir well to combine.
  4. Drizzle in about half of the caramel ice cream topping. Stir and taste; add more caramel if a sweeter flavor is desired.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for at least a few hours or up to 24 hours to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Just before serving, pour in the ginger ale to maintain carbonation. Stir gently.
  7. Add the sliced apples and cinnamon sticks to the pitcher.
  8. Serve over ice, garnishing glasses with apple slices and cinnamon sticks if desired.

Notes

Add ginger ale only right before serving to prevent the drink from going flat. The base (without ginger ale) can be made up to 24 hours in advance. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and amaretto and add an extra cup of apple cider and a splash of vanilla extract. Use fresh refrigerated cider for the best flavor.
