Description
A rich, creamy, and budget-friendly homemade copycat of popular café vanilla iced coffee. This recipe uses cold brew, heavy cream, and vanilla bean paste for a luxurious taste that costs less than $1 per serving.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (480ml) Cold Brew Coffee
- 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) Heavy Cream
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Vanilla Bean Paste
- 2–3 tablespoons (30-45ml) Sugar or Simple Syrup
- Ice Cubes
Instructions
- Combine coarse coffee grounds and hot water in a French press or jar. Stir well, cover, and refrigerate for 12-24 hours to steep.
- Strain the cold brew coffee by pressing the plunger or filtering through a coffee filter into a clean jar. Discard grounds.
- In a small bowl, whisk together heavy cream, vanilla bean paste, and sugar until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the cold brew coffee over the ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Slowly pour the milk over the ice to mix with the coffee.
- Top with the vanilla cream mixture. For a frothy layer, use a handheld frother on the cream mixture before pouring.
- Serve immediately, stirring before drinking or sipping straight to enjoy the creamy top.
Notes
Use coarse coffee grounds to avoid bitterness. If using granulated sugar, dissolve it in a tiny bit of hot water first as it doesn’t dissolve well in cold coffee. For a dairy-free version, substitute oat milk and coconut cream. The cold brew concentrate can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
