Description
A simple, refreshing frozen strawberry margarita made with just five ingredients. This recipe balances fresh lime juice, tequila, and sweet strawberries for a perfect summer cocktail that is ready in minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups frozen strawberries (300g)
- 2 ounces tequila blanco (60ml)
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice (30ml)
- 1–2 tablespoons agave nectar (15-30ml)
- 1 ounce Cointreau or Triple Sec (30ml)
- Salt for rimming glasses
- Lime wheels for garnish
- Extra frozen strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass and dip into salt to coat. Tap off excess salt.
- Add liquid ingredients (tequila, lime juice, agave, Cointreau) to the blender first to help it start.
- Add frozen strawberries to the blender on top of the liquids.
- Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth and slushy.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness with more agave or tartness with more lime juice if needed.
- Pour into prepared glasses.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and a frozen strawberry.
- Serve immediately while cold and slushy.
Notes
Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor; bottled juice tastes flat. If using fresh strawberries, freeze them for at least 4 hours or add a cup of ice. Keep tequila in the freezer to help keep the drink cold without watering it down. Adjust agave based on the sweetness of your strawberries.
